Today’s topic: 𝙁𝘼𝙎𝙏𝙄𝙉𝙂!⁣ ⁣ I’ve listened to quite a bit of podcasts on fasting and it intrigued me so much that I now implement fasting myself!⁣ ⁣ I stop eating at 8pm and break my fast usually with Shakeology around 12 or 1pm. Today I broke it a smidge after 1.⁣ ⁣ All I can say is before you dive into intermittent fasting or fasting in general, make sure to do your research. ❤️Throwback Thursday to my 9 months in and 9 months out photo shoot. My sweetest gift, my sweet son. This was such a fun photo shoot to do because I remember wondering what my baby boy was going to look like and who he was going to be. If I had known then what I know now my heart would have exploded. As a Mommy that works full time it’s so hard for me missing out on parts of his life. I’m so grateful for my time with him and I don’t want to miss anymore time with him than I have to. It’s a struggle I know for all Mommy’s to find balance and that gives my heart peace. BUT are you setting yourself up for failure before you even step foot into the gym? here are my top tips to avoid the session that makes you feel 💩 • 1️⃣ PLAYLIST- have you got some good tunes? songs that make you feel good? songs that you WANT to listen to? 2️⃣ THE WORKOUT- have you planned it out? know what machines / exercises you’re going to do? are you going to stand around deciding? 3️⃣ OUTFIT- are you going to spend ages pulling leggings up? adjusting your sports bra? picking out that annoying wedgie? 4️⃣ WORKOUT PARTNER- is it someone who pushes you? has similar lifting styles to you? wants to train or just sit on their phone? 5️⃣ MINDSET- are you walking in already thinking about leaving? do you want to be there? • we ALL have 💩 day’s but these tips can help to avoid them being common👏🏼

A little post birthday reflection.⁣ ⁣ 22 vs 33.⁣ ⁣ 10 years of my life I’ve gained back! At 22, unlike Taylor Swifts lyric of her “22” song, “everything will be alright” when in fact it wasn’t.⁣ ⁣ I just had major liver surgery and was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. It took a couple years, but I finally said enough! I needed to make a change because I was slowly killing my self. ⁣ ⁣ I’m listening to the Energy Bus book right now and one quote really stood out to me and I hope it resonates with you, “The goal in life is to live young, have fun, and arrive at your final destination-late as possible-with a smile on your face, because this would mean that you truly enjoyed the ride.”⁣ ⁣ I hope to keep arriving with a smile on my face. Apologies for the blurry picture but I wanted to post this for myself to look back on the fact I just did half hour on the cross trainer and burnt 300 calories. To some this might sound stupid but to me it's a big deal. I've hated exercise for years because I always found it hard with how over weight and unfit I was. I was in the mindset of don't bother trying just accept how you are. But I wasn't happy with who I was. I wanted to be slimmer and fitter and be able to exercise and enjoy it like so many other people. Today I broke down that wall of 'I can't do it' and pushed through with my end goal of being 300 calories no matter how long it took me and I smashed it! You can probably name a few... Usually, the real reason for that is because they didn't set long term goals for themselves. Make sure you can commit to a workout routine that you can stick for a long time. ⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ 4⃣ You're on a constant diet⁣⁣⠀⠀ ⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀ Being healthy and fit doesn't mean you have to be perfect. What's the secret then? One word - BALANCE. Implementing the 80/20 approach is a great way to maintain long term success. Based on all of yesterday's candy eating I needed to get out for an extra long hike today. Its all about balance, some weeks I do great and others well not so much. I take two walks per day and I can't tell you how much it helps with focus and general well being. With that said, I really walk so I can continue to eat my @seescandy 😃
