Making the most out of your day allows you to get more done in less time, become more creative, reduce stress and overall improve your life. - Here are a few of my favorites๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ - Schedule your workouts through an app- If you like doing your own workouts in a gym, have your routine written out before you go so you donโ€™t have to think about what your going to do and just roam around the gym. If your someone who doesnโ€™t want to plan your workouts and you enjoy just showing up to a class, try @classpass . A great option for a variety of different workouts from yoga, pilates, strength training, kickboxing and more! - Make use of idle time- For me idle time is sitting in traffic, taking showers or folding clothes. My favorite way to make use of this time is by listening to audio books or podcasts. I really love learning new things and lets get real- books are the cheat codes to life! Speaking of getting the most out of your day, โ€œThe Power of Habitโ€ and โ€œAtomic Habitsโ€ are amazing on audio and extremely helpful! @audible offers a 30 day free trial to new subscribers. - Make a Healthy Meal- My favorite way to have a healthy meal on deck and ready when Iโ€™m home is the crockpot! There are SO many ways to combine whole food ingredients to make a healthy delicious meal. Not to mention most crockpots make a ton of food! Hello leftovers! You can also make use of an air fryer while your doing laundry. If you havenโ€™t tried an air fryer yet, their life changing and you can cook practically anything in them. - Schedule your days by the hour- I like the time blocking method, which basically plans out every moment of your day in advance and dedicates time blocks for certain tasks or responsibilities. My day doesnโ€™t always go as planned but doing this does keep me on task and Iโ€™m less likely to start scrolling IG or get distracted. - I hope these little nuggets inspired you to try something new! Cheesing hard in the gym restroom mirror because honestly never have pictures to pair with words I wanna tell ya when it comes to fitness ๐Ÿ™‡๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ For the last 4 months Iโ€™ve been sticking to maintenance calories & just hitting the weights. But Iโ€™m getting bored of normal so planning to switch it up a bit ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ๐Ÿคฉ โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € Whenever Iโ€™m in a gym funk I love to switch it up. I have a few fun workout classes planned (tried crossfit last week, super fun time!!!!), but taking the whole week off of training next week to soak up all the moments with the people around me on spring break โค๏ธ Iโ€™m starting a new program from @upliftfitnessohio when I get back & Iโ€™m super stoked!! Iโ€™ll definitely be sharing updates along the way. Finding your rhythm again... . . Long distance running has never been my thing. I have always gravitated towards #hiit training because sometimes thatโ€™s all I have time for. Iโ€™m working back up to 5 miles consistently and I could have waited to post till I got there...but this is progress. This is honoring the come up before I get to where I want to be. Take a read Reality of a fitness professional during consults. What the population/media assumes: oh the personal trainer just helps people lose weight and look good. Yes, that is a minor thing of what we do. Reality: Iโ€™ll give you some examples. Just today alone, a lady I had was bed ridden for 7 years. Is in chronic pain and even developed ptsd and just wants to be able to move around and not think twice about anything. Another woman has miniereโ€™s disease and canโ€™t do the things she loves because the pressure in her head causes her so much pain and it takes her away from her family. A man who has had the highest body fat in his life and is stressed out 24-7 because of his job and hasnโ€™t worked out in over 6 months and feels defeated. A 15 year old developed an ear issue at birth which caused him to have speech issues and canโ€™t talk. Also, this caused him to develop vertigo. This was just today sitting down and doing assessment work. The point: everyone is fighting so much more than the โ€œaestheticโ€ outside image you see. Plenty of people have issues/diseases/ severe health risks. My job as a fitness professional is to improve peopleโ€™s quality of life in a physical, mental, and emotional standpoint. In the vid, one of my clients, Jerrell is knocking out a few reps to kick off his chest day๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ!โฃ โฃ The primary muscles that are worked in a bench press are the pecs (or course) with the front delts. โšก๏ธ Grow your Tricepsโšก๏ธ Tag a friends who needs bigger triceps ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡ . . Tricep growth is fundamental for bigger arms. Typically when I see people train triceps they move their wrists and rotate their arms. This is the number one reason why those people canโ€™t grow their triceps. Letโ€™s think about it. Anatomically, the tricep originates in your shoulder joint and inserts into your elbow joint. The primary responsibility of the triceps is to weakly extend your upper arm (humerus) and strongly extend your forearm. There is no rotational aspect that the triceps are in control of. Any rotation is done at the wrist and the shoulder joint. If you look at the elbow, which the triceps full power is associated with, the elbow only moves in a linear path. Or in other words, it only moves up and down in a straight line.
