“Love makes your soul crawl out from your hiding place.” - Zora Neale Hurston ⠀ for the longest time I looked at love through the lens of others - how they made me feel, what I hoped they would give in return, was i worthy...never really focusing on the most important person in the equation - me. ⠀ part of declaring 2020 my “Goddess Year” was definitely about the external, but most importantly it is about honoring myself and my commitment to “crawling out from my hiding place.” thankful for all of the wonderful love in my life and I hope you all take a moment today to honor yourselves for how far you’ve come. happy Valentine’s Day xo 💕 ⠀ mua: @danieandthebloom pc: @mr_ddavis

Have you ever thought of mixing your toner & oil serum? I thought I knew everything about my @beautybyafricamiranda products but today I learned something new! I recently got a facial from @heydayskincare (loved it!) and in a follow up email they suggested mixing your toner and oil serum together for maximum hydration and to even help those with oily skin. I tried it with my @beautybyafricamiranda Hydra Essence Complexion Mist and Facial Elixir and I LOVE it!! You can pick up your combo at and use “XOXO” for 15% off!

brands, brands, brands, brands, brands (swipe to see some of my fave collabs) - one of the questions I get asked the most is how I’ve secured my brand and media partnerships. my strategy? ⠀ Image + Message = Opportunity ⠀ here are 3 strategies/techniques to help you better position yourself for opportunities: ⠀ 1. Create campaign level content - my years as a print model & a commercial actress have given me insight on creating high-level content and storytelling. I approach everything thing I post (paid or not) as if it is going in a magazine or on television. I research and scout locations, incorporate brand colors, create mood boards - everything is done with intention. ⠀ 2. You’re always pitching (even when you’re not) - create as if someone is always watching, because they are. every year I create a wish list of the types of projects I would like to do, brands I would like to work with etc. I research their current campaigns and messaging and use that as inspo. Going back to number 1 - I’ve established myself as someone who can create extremely high-level content and that makes me extremely valuable as a content creator. ⠀ 3. Have a clear message - this is honestly the most important piece. There has to be substance. There has to be clarity. No one is an expert on EVERYTHING. The clearer your platform is the easier it is for brands to see where you fit in their campaigns & programs. Also your ability to clearly articulate your message is what will set you apart. ⠀ I share these strategies and more in my free #MediaMasteryWorkshop and the @stepupstepoutandshine Digital Media Training course - to join my next workshop or learn more about the course check out the link in my bio!

have you taken your press images for 2020 yet? i’m a little behind but I’m prepping for them now. thankfully I have a few in the vault (like this one) that I can use in the meantime. if you plan on doing any press or media opportunities this year you HAVE to have great press images. a few tips: ⠀ 1. Great press shots show your personality. This isn’t about being on the cover of a hi-fashion magazine - it’s about showcasing you at your best. It should feel approachable and inviting. ⠀ 2. Wardrobe - consider your brand colors and also what colors look best on you. Some may disagree, but I don’t recommend black. It is my favorite color, but not for something like this as it can come off too blah. Get your clothing tailored before you shoot. It absolutely makes a difference. ⠀ 3. NO CELL PHONE PHOTOS. Please. Make the small investment in yourself so that you have quality images. You never know where the images will end up - one of my press photos was used in a Vanity Fair feature ✨ ⠀ These are just a few tips to make sure you’re putting your best face forward this year. Looking forward to tonight’s #MediaMasteryWorkshop where I’ll be sharing this and more on how small adjustments in how you present yourself can have major returns. Join me at 7PM EST - link in bio or ✨ ⠀ ⠀ pc: @mr_ddavis
